Automanically load WAREHOUSE N BIN" : ZE1B111261

Current Manual Process: Overview

When performing a Manufacture Process transaction in the system, users currently:

  1. Navigate to:
Bill of Material > Transactions > Manufacture Process

  2. Click "Add"
Start a new manufacture process transaction.

  3. Select Master Item to manufacture (e.g., SPBA-00001).

  4. Select Warehouse (e.g., WIP) manually.

  5. Input quantities

    • Total process quantity

    • Quantity to manufacture

  6. Click "Save"

  7. Click "AutoDraw"
The system draws the required raw materials to manufacture the item.

  8. Manual Allocation:
For each raw material, the user must manually:

    • Select the Warehouse

    • Select the Bin Location

    • Select the Lot Number
This step is repetitive, time-consuming, and error-prone.

Automating the selection of Warehouse, Bin, and Lot using FEFO during the “AutoDraw” step of the Manufacture Process enhances operational efficiency, ensures compliance, and reduces user workload. This automation aligns with best practices in inventory and manufacturing systems and is highly beneficial for scalable, error-free operations.

Proposed Automated Business Process (With FEFO Integration)

To streamline the above, we propose automating the warehouse, bin location, and lot allocation based on the FEFO method at the time of clicking “AutoDraw”.

Step-by-Step Improved Process:

  1. User Navigates To:
Bill of Material > Transactions > Manufacture Process

  2. Click "Add"

  3. Select Master Item (e.g., SPBA-00001)

  4. Select WIP Warehouse

  5. Input Process & Manufacture Quantity

  6. Click "Save"

  7. Click "AutoDraw"

System Now Performs the Following Automatically:

    • Step 7.1: System pulls the raw materials based on the BOM structure.

    • Step 7.2: For each raw material, system:

      • Retrieves available lots sorted by earliest expiry date (FEFO principle).

      • Checks for available stock in warehouse bins.

      • Auto-assigns:

        • Warehouse (based on stock availability or predefined rules)

        • Bin Location (based on FIFO/FEFO stock rotation)

        • Lot Number (earliest expiry date first)

  1. User reviews drawn items with system-prepopulated warehouse, bin, and lot values—no manual selection required.

  2. Print the Picking slip

  3. Proceed to “Process” or next manufacturing steps.

What is the workaround for the problem today?
