Bill of Material inventory item fixed usage - does not scale with BOM size
Some inventory items in a Bill of Materials are fixed in their usage and should not scale with over or under manufacturing of the BOM. For example, raw materials used to manufacture a batch of product will scale if the batch changes but consumables such as a dust mask or sample container should never scale. These items should have a field or option to be used at a specific fixed quantity per batch irrespective of size.
What is the workaround for the problem today?
The items are used at different quantities instead of 1 per batch and therefore the transactions for the item must be exported to Excel and the usage in SAGE subtracted from 1 and totaled. This total is then entered as an adjustment in SAGE (usually subtraction of quantity on hand)
