Customers had to be set up as On Account customers and the company now runs the risk of these customers, who are not allowed buy On Account, to build up a debit account balance once the credit account balance has depleted. Even after setting a credit limit of R1, the Retail POS still allows the On Account tender of a sale, where the client has a credit balance, even though the value of the sale is more that the credit balance available and the credit limit allowed. The company now needs to keep manual record of the customer's credit available.
