The automatic purchase order feature to use the Quantity Available value instead of Quantity on Hand
Our business has lots of inventory items that are temporarily posted to the “Qty in Work in Progress (MF)” & “Qty in Work in Progress (Job) “ for various reasons. Sometimes these items can remain in “Work in Progress” for several months. This effects our ability to reorder stock to our minimum levels. In addition, we also have lots of inventory items that have reserved stock on sales orders. These can also remain as reserved items for several months, again effecting our ability to reorder stock to our minimum levels.
Describe how you see users benefiting from this feature.
This would allow users to have much more control over stock re-ordering and ensure they are able to reorder up to the minimum levels set in the system.
By not having this feature what challenges you foresee.
Not having this feature, means we are constantly under ordering stock. For example, we may have an item with a minimum value set to 5. That item may have: - Quantity on Hand = 5 - Quantity Available = 0 - Quantity in Work in Progress (MF) = 3 - Quantity in Work in Progress (Job) = 2 In this scenario, the system will not re order this item.
